Al Hilal have reached a principle agreement with Liverpool to sign forward Darwin Núñez.
The two sides have verbally agreed a deal worth €53 million (plus additional add-on clauses), and the 26-year-old has expressed willingness to accept the transfer.
There are still some steps to complete before the transfer is finalized, so neither club has released any confirmation yet.
However, Liverpool have allowed Núñez to hold talks with Al Hilal, and if negotiations go smoothly, the Uruguayan international will have the opportunity to join the Saudi Pro League side's training camp in Germany.
Al Hilal have identified Núñez as their top target and are stepping up efforts to sign him.
AC Milan have also shown interest in signing Núñez, though the Serie A club is not believed to be able to match Al Hilal's offer.
In January, Liverpool rejected an approximately €70 million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and had no intention of selling the forward mid-season as they competed for major honors in the second half of the campaign.
Núñez joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 for a transfer fee of up to €100 million (£85 million) including add-ons.
In three seasons at Anfield, he scored 40 goals for the club, but in the title-winning 2024-25 season, he only started 8 Premier League matches.
