Bukayo Saka will miss Arsenal’s away match against Liverpool this Sunday, as well as England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia next month.
The 23-year-old forward suffered a hamstring injury and was substituted off during Saturday’s home victory over Leeds United, and is expected to be out for a maximum of four weeks.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard picked up a shoulder injury in the win over Leeds, and his participation in the Anfield clash remains in doubt.
Odegaard looked visibly in pain when he was replaced in the first half of the 5-0 thrashing. The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder left the Emirates Stadium wearing a shoulder brace.
The Norwegian midfielder’s absence from the match against the Premier League champions has not yet been confirmed, and Arsenal insiders are optimistic that neither the 26-year-old nor Saka will be sidelined with long-term injuries.
It is particularly reassuring that Saka’s injury is not severe, considering he missed three months last season due to a hamstring issue.
