Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to submit another bid to Manchester City for Brazilian forward Savinho, with the transfer fee reportedly set to exceed €70 million.
Regarding the progress of Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho, Fabrizio Romano stated that, as previously reported, Savinho will indeed miss Tottenham’s match against Manchester City due to injury, which is not a so-called "transfer-related injury" – his absence is genuine. However, it should be emphasized that his injury is not serious.
Over the past 24 hours, Tottenham have continued to communicate with relevant parties and have made it clear that they are ready to increase their bid for Savinho. The new offer is expected to exceed €70 million, and it remains to be seen whether this figure will be sufficient to persuade Manchester City to let the player go. Earlier, Manchester City had rejected Tottenham’s initial bid of €50 million, and although Tottenham subsequently verbally increased their offer, they did not submit a formal document.
Manchester City have been blocking the transfer, with club executives maintaining a clear refusal stance. However, Savinho’s movements remain worthy of close attention before the closure of the transfer window. Despite Manchester City currently adhering to their "not for sale" stance, Tottenham plan to submit a new bid with a total value exceeding €70 million, and may further enhance its attractiveness by adjusting the deal structure, adding add-on clauses, and other means.
Tottenham have not given up and may express their interest in signing the player to Manchester City again after the match. The club believes the player himself is open to the transfer, and head coach Thomas Frank also highly rates Savinho.
