Transfer | Stuttgart Deems Bayern's Offer for Vollertmann Ludicrous, Bordering on Disrespect

VfB Stuttgart has described Bayern Munich’s initial offer for Nick Vollertmann as “ludicrous,” further reinforcing the perception that Bayern’s approach in the transfer saga has been bordering on disrespect.

The offer in question was €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons, to be paid in four installments. Currently, there has been no communication between the two clubs, and talks have not resumed since the initial bid was tabled. A significant gulf remains between Bayern and Stuttgart over the transfer fee.

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen—acting as a deputy to Uli Hoeneß—has intervened in negotiations on multiple occasions, complicating matters. However, it is reported that exchanges between sports director Max Eberl and Stuttgart executives have been positive.

Stuttgart is determined to stand firm, as they hold all the leverage: Vollertmann is tied to a long-term contract with no release clause. From Stuttgart’s perspective, they will either secure a substantial sum or retain a German international. A quick agreement is unlikely unless Bayern submits the “over-the-top offer” that Stuttgart is demanding.
