Juventus are interested in pursuing a move for Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and are prepared to include players such as Dušan Vlahović, Douglas Luiz, and Andrea Savona in transfer negotiations related to Tonali.
For some time now, Juventus have greatly admired Tonali’s performances and hope to bring him back to Serie A. However, they are well aware that the chances of successfully signing Tonali are quite slim. Nevertheless, they have not given up hope of securing the Italian international.
Juventus are considering using Vlahović as a bargaining chip to persuade Newcastle to let Tonali leave. This summer, Newcastle’s first-choice striker Alexander Isak has explicitly requested to leave, leaving the team in urgent need of signing a new centre-forward to fill the gap. Previously, Newcastle attempted to sign forwards such as Bryan Mbeumo, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Šeško, but all attempts failed. To quickly resolve their attacking woes, Newcastle have now begun conducting a comprehensive evaluation of Vlahović.
In addition to Vlahović, Juventus are also willing to include midfielder Douglas Luiz and defender Andrea Savona in the transfer negotiations to offset part of Tonali’s transfer fee. Juventus believe that if Tonali can successfully join the team, he will effectively address the club’s numerous issues in both offensive and defensive aspects of the midfield. Furthermore, Tonali himself has expressed a willingness to return to play in Italy, which is undoubtedly a favorable factor for Juventus.
However, Juventus will not pin all their hopes on Tonali alone; they will also simultaneously push forward transfer matters for other midfield targets. Juventus have numerous candidate targets, including Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, Sporting CP’s Morten Hjulmand, Brighton’s Jayson O’Leary, Al-Ittihad’s Franck Kessié, and Fenerbahçe’s Sofyan Amrabat, among others.
