Previously, Bodø/Glimt had reached the Champions League play-offs twice before – in the 2022/23 season and 2024/25 season – but fell short on both occasions. They were defeated by Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star Belgrade respectively, narrowly missing out on the group stage at the final hurdle each time.
This season, making their third appearance in the Champions League play-offs, a crucial 5-0 home victory in the first leg laid the foundation for Bodø/Glimt’s qualification. In the end, they made history by qualifying for the Champions League group stage for the first time in the club’s history.
