Manchester United are on the verge of completing the deal for Bryan Mbeumo, but there is still plenty of work to be done this summer, with Randal Kolo Muani now among the linked names.
Manchester United kicked off their pre-season with a goalless draw against Leeds United on Saturday.
Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim handed new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon their Manchester United debuts in Stockholm, and both made impressive showings against the newly-promoted Premier League side. Bryan Mbeumo is expected to join them this summer, as United are close to finalizing his £70 million transfer from Brentford.
The Red Devils' pre-season preparations will continue with a trip to the United States. Amorim's side will travel to Chicago on Tuesday, where they will play most of their three matches.
Manchester United are monitoring a move for striker Randal Kolo Muani, who has returned to Paris Saint-Germain following his loan spell at Juventus.
It is claimed that United view him as a "priority target" and have stepped up their pursuit of the Frenchman after Liverpool's Hugo Ekitike "rejected" a move to Old Trafford.
Signing Kolo Muani could prove a shrewd move, especially if he joins on loan or for a low transfer fee. The forward has struggled to make an impact at Paris, but scored 50 goals in 26 appearances for Frankfurt.
"United also want a new goalkeeper and midfielder, so funds may be tight, but Kolo Muani could represent good value if they get the right deal."
Jackson "Talks"
It is reported that Manchester United have held talks with representatives of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.
"There is a lot to be done in terms of spending", but as conversations progress, it "could happen under the right circumstances".
AC Milan and Aston Villa are also said to be interested, with the latter managed by Jackson's former Villarreal boss Unai Emery.
It feels like Jackson's days at Chelsea are numbered. With Liam Delap joining, and another forward potentially arriving before the deadline, the Blues seem likely to consider moving him on this summer.
But this should not spark United's interest. The Red Devils need a reliable goalscorer, and Jackson is certainly not that.
