Transfer | Chelsea Eye Marc Casadó as Barcelona Ready to Sell for Over €30M

Premier League sides have been inquiring about Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó for months, with the Spaniard’s standout performances last season intensifying interest. Casadó rejected multiple offers during the 2023-24 campaign and signed a three-year contract extension with Barça, but his future is now in flux.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona—still navigating player departures to raise funds—could offload Casadó in the coming days. While the club values his contributions, the 23-year-old risks remaining a rotational player under manager Hansi Flick, prompting Barça to consider offers if they meet their valuation.

Casadó’s contract runs until 2027 and includes a €100 million release clause, though suitors are exploring workarounds. Chelsea, who first approached the midfielder last summer, have reignited talks in recent weeks. Sources claim Barça would green-light a sale if the Blues table an offer exceeding his €30 million market value—a figure that exceeds his current transfer worth but falls short of the release clause.

Despite Casadó’s desire to stay at Camp Nou, the final decision rests with Flick, who has openly discussed the player’s role with him. Barcelona’s financial constraints may force them to cash in, especially with clubs like Chelsea prioritizing midfield reinforcements ahead of the 2025-26 season.
