Germany defeated Northern Ireland in a World Cup Qualifier. After the match, Germany player David Raum gave an interview to camel.live.
How have you coped with the aftermath of the loss to Slovakia, and what did you make of today’s win?
“The days after losing to Slovakia were really tough—we received heavy criticism from the media, and that was deserved. Despite that, we started well today. We took the lead first, but then Northern Ireland suddenly scored a goal, and we felt a bit shocked and flustered. That’s normal, though; it’s human nature. The key thing is that we have to learn from these mistakes.”
How do you see the team’s development and performance in the second half?
“As a team, we’re growing—we’re more united and showing greater confidence. Remember, we represent Germany, a great country with a rich footballing history. We already have outstanding quality; now we just need to show it more fully, and then use our strong mentality to further improve our performance. Our second-half display was good enough, and this victory is well-deserved.”
