Chelsea Values Jackson at £100m & Man Utd Values Garnacho at £70m, Potential Swap Deal Between the Two Sides

Manchester United have made initial contact regarding the signing of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

The 24-year-old Senegal international joined Stamford Bridge from Villarreal for £32m two years ago, but his place in the Blues' pecking order has gradually declined since the arrivals of Pedro and Drapes this summer.

However, Chelsea are in no rush to sell the player and have valued Jackson at a whopping £100m. Therefore, if Manchester United are to sign Jackson, the club must raise funds through player sales and make significant efforts in terms of expenditure.

Last month, Amorim's side added Matheus Cunha to their attacking lineup – the club signed the Brazilian from Wolves for £62.5m – and Bryan Mbeumo is also expected to join soon from Brentford for a £71m transfer fee.

But with Manchester United scoring a club-record low 44 goals in the Premier League last season, they are reportedly still likely to strengthen their frontline by signing Jackson.

Chelsea have also had a long-term interest in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and are keen to sign the Argentine international this summer. Garnacho's Manchester United career appears to be coming to an end, as manager Amorim told him to find a new club after his reaction following the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in May.

Several reports in January suggested that Manchester United and Chelsea were in talks over a potential player swap deal involving the Argentine, with Christopher Nkunku also in consideration – he could move from West London to Old Trafford. If this possibility is reignited, United may also add funds to the deal, making the signing of Jackson more likely.

Ideally, Manchester United want £70m for Garnacho, which is lower than Chelsea's valuation of Jackson. Therefore, if United step up their interest in signing Jackson, they could face competition from Serie A giants AC Milan, who also hope to sign him from Chelsea.

As things stand, Manchester United's attacking depth for next season will still be insufficient, with Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho all set to leave this summer.
