The initial relevant rumors originated from Colombian media outlet Infobae, which claimed on its official website that Mourinho lashed out at Durán during the opening press conference of Fenerbahçe's training camp.
“John Durán's behavior (failing to attend the first training session) is disrespectful. There are clear rules here, and anyone who does not abide by the rules will bear the consequences. If he comes, we will have a talk with him when he arrives.”
Fenerbahçe released an official statement:
"Reports of statements made by our head coach Mourinho in foreign media regarding our player John Durán are completely false.
Our coach has not made any statements on this matter. Our player arrived in Portugal tonight to join the team's Algarve training camp!" it stated.
Neither Mourinho nor Durán has commented, but it is clear that this is an obvious rumor incident.
