
CAF (Confederation of African Football) has officially announced that Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi has been named the 2025 African Footballer of the Year.
Hakimi secured a historic five-trophy haul with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this year, including the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 titles . Meanwhile, he played a pivotal role in helping Morocco qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals .
On a personal front, the 26-year-old finished sixth in the 2025 Ballon d’Or voting, cementing his status as one of the world’s top defenders .
