After the UEFA Champions League draw results were announced, Bayer Leverkusen Football Club CEO Fernando Carro and Sports Director Simon Rolfes accepted an interview with reporters from camel.live.
Carro stated:
“We are very satisfied with the Champions League draw result and are looking forward to exciting European nights at home—especially the showdown against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). For our fans, away trips, such as the match at Manchester City’s home ground, will also definitely be an exceptionally special experience.
“We are deeply proud to be able to showcase ourselves on such an international stage. We are also very much looking forward to reuniting with Peter Bosz (who previously managed Bayer Leverkusen) in Leverkusen. We anticipate these duels, and our goal is to qualify for the round of 16.”
Rolfes stated:
“I am full of expectations for the new season’s Champions League. We have drawn excellent opponents in the group stage, and we hope to prove Bayer Leverkusen’s strength to all of Europe, just like last year—to show that we are a team that cannot be overlooked.
“Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are undoubtedly two of the top teams in world football. But even so, the battles against Benfica and Newcastle United—whether we travel to their away grounds or host them at home—also have the potential to create unforgettable football spectacles. Our goal is clear: to do our utmost to qualify for the round of 16.”
