AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Luka Modrić. The contract runs until June 30, 2026, with an option to extend until June 30, 2027.

Born on September 9, 1985, in Zadar, Luka Modrić embarked on his professional career at the age of 16, joining Dinamo Zagreb’s youth academy. He was subsequently loaned to Bosnia’s Zrinjski Mostar and Croatia’s NK Inter Zaprešić. In 2004, Modrić returned to Dinamo Zagreb, where he made 128 appearances and scored 32 goals over four seasons, helping the club secure 3 league titles, 2 Croatian Cups, and 1 Croatian Super Cup.

In the summer of 2008, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur, tallying 17 goals in 159 appearances. A pivotal career move came in 2012 when he joined Real Madrid. Over 13 seasons with the “Los Blancos,” Modrić featured 597 times and scored 43 goals, becoming one of the most decorated players in the club’s history: 6 UEFA Champions League titles, 5 FIFA Club World Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and 5 Supercopa de España honors.

In 2018, Modrić won the Ballon d’Or, a crowning achievement in his illustrious career and a testament to his status as one of the greatest players in football history.

Capped 188 times for Croatia (scoring 28 goals), Modrić serves as the national team captain and holds the record for most appearances in Croatia’s international history.

Luka Modrić will wear the number 14 shirt for the Rossoneri.
