The entire process of Marc-André ter Stegen’s surgery has no connection with Barcelona whatsoever, and a full-scale conflict between the player and the club has now erupted.
During his recent surgery, Ter Stegen did not want any member of FC Barcelona to accompany him to Bordeaux for the procedure.
He also had no contact in any form with Ignasi Moix, the club doctor sent to Bordeaux, and declined any assistance with his post-operative care. As a result, a full-scale conflict between the player and the club has unfolded.
It is understood that the deadlock between Barcelona and Ter Stegen persists. He is refusing to sign the medical report that the club is required to submit to La Liga, which will impact the registration of his replacement, Joan García.
