Man City set for huge profit! Savinho chased by Tottenham: 14 goal contributions in 48 games, €40m net gain in a year

Manchester City’s trophy-less campaign last season (only Champions League qualification in the league, group stage exit in the Champions League, FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, Club World Cup elimination by Al Hilal) was largely due to an aging squad and weak recruitment—yet Savinho, the Brazilian forward signed in summer 2024, could now become a "profit generator."
Multiple English media outlets report that Tottenham are pursuing Savinho, with an initial bid of €50 million, but City are demanding as much as €70 million. The 21-year-old, despite being valued by Pep Guardiola, is eager to leave for regular game time—his minutes could be squeezed by City’s signings of Marmoush and Cherki in the winter and summer windows, plus regulars like Phil Foden and Jérémy Doku—and hopes to secure a spot in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad.

A product of Atlético Mineiro’s youth system, Savinho joined City Group-owned Troyes for €6.5 million in 2022. During his 2023-24 loan spell at Girona, he notched 21 goal contributions (11 goals, 10 assists) in 41 games, earning a Brazil call-up (1 goal, 3 assists in 13 caps). City signed him for an "internal price" of €25 million in summer 2024—despite his Transfermarkt value standing at €50 million—and he contributed 14 goal contributions (3 goals, 11 assists) in 48 games last season.

Tottenham, needing to reinforce their attacking line after James Maddison’s serious injury and Son Heung-min’s departure, have identified Savinho and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze as top targets, planning to spend over €100 million to sign both. City are open to selling: with Savinho under contract for 4 more years (on £40,000 a week), the deal is expected to close at €60-65 million—meaning City would net €40 million in just one year. If completed, the funds could be used to pursue Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.
For Savinho, a move to Tottenham could see him form a flank partnership with Kudus, competing in the Premier League and Champions League. Whether the transfer is sealed this summer remains to be seen.
