Neymar: I Believe My Exclusion from Brazil Squad Is Due to Tactical Reasons; I Respect the Coach’s Decision

After Santos’ 0-0 draw with Fluminense, Neymar addressed his exclusion from the latest Brazil national team squad in an interview.

Earlier, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that Neymar missed out on the squad due to a minor physical issue. In response, Neymar said: “That was edema in my adductor muscle. Actually, it was just a small problem, nothing serious—which is why I was able to play today. I wasn’t going to take part in the match against Bahia anyway, so they chose to let me rest and train to recover.”

“I think my exclusion is mainly due to tactical considerations, not my physical condition. That’s the coach’s call, and I respect his decision. Since I’m not in the squad, I can only cheer for our team and hope they put on a good game.”
