Following confirmation of the injuries sustained by two players called up to the France national team – Ousmane Dembélé and Desiré Doué – (injuries that have significant competitive consequences for both the players themselves and the club), Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has sent a letter to the French Football Federation (FFF), urgently calling for the establishment of a new, more transparent, and more collaborative medical-sports coordination mechanism, with player health and medical protection placed as an absolute priority.

PSG monitors the medical conditions of its players throughout the year and maintains detailed, verifiable information. Prior to the start of France’s training camp, the club had submitted specific medical data to the FFF regarding the players’ tolerable workloads and injury risks. Regrettably, the club notes that these medical recommendations were not adopted by the France national team’s medical staff, nor was there any engagement with or consultation of PSG’s medical department.

PSG reaffirms its support for the national team’s mission and shares the objective of enhancing its international influence. The club hopes that this regrettable incident will serve as a catalyst for establishing a formal medical coordination framework – one that ensures systematic, documented, and two-way communication between the medical teams of clubs and the national team, while also implementing stricter preventive principles when players are called up and utilized, particularly in cases where players are still undergoing treatment.

Immediate corrective measures must be taken in response to the recent serious and avoidable incidents. The club stands ready to actively participate in this collective effort, with the interests of players and professional football as a whole at heart.
